INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup rice flour / akki hittu
- 1¼ cup of water
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp oil
INSTRUCTIONS
- firstly, in a Kadai take 1¼ cup of water.
- also add salt and oil.
- stir well and obtain water to boil
- further simmer the flame, and add roasted rice flour.
- mix ceaselessly until the dough is created.
- now put off the flame, cover and rest for five minutes.
- furthermore, with wet hands, knead and mix along.
- be careful, because the dough goes to be very hot.
- now take noodle mold and fix to the chakli maker.
- grease the chakli maker with some oil. this prevents dough from sticking out to mold.
- now build a cylindrical form out of dough and place the dough within the maker. keep covered the rest dough else they will flip hard.
- tighten the lid and begin making ready idiyappam.
- on the lubricated idli plate press in a circular motion.
- further, steam it for ten minutes.
- finally, serve idiyappam with tomato kurma or sweet coconut milk and flat-topped with oil.
